My sister's birthday...

Today would have been my sister's 44th birthday. There have been so many instances that I have missed her lately. Even though it has been almost 2 years I still want to pick up the phone and call her about things.

My brother-in-law put a memoriam in the Bakersfield Californian today. Check it out:

Gina's Memoriam

I just want my sister to know how much I love her and that I miss her tons! Happy Birthday Big Sis!

A man that will be truly missed...

I was saddened by the news on Sunday that President Gordon B. Hinkley had passed away. My second thoughts were that I was also happy for him because he was able to be reunited with his wife who had passed away a few years ago. He always talked about how much he missed her.

I am going to miss President Hinkley's spirit. He was a caring and loving man with a great sense of humor. He was loved by many and will be remembered forever!

I am so thankful to have been alive while he was our prophet. He was an amazing man that will be truly missed!

Going Cruising...

I can't begin to express with words how excited I am to be going on a cruise with Danny. We have never went anywhere over night together without the kids. This will be our first time. Even though I know I am going to miss them terribly, I am so excited to spend some time with just Danny. =)

Our bestest friends Brenda and Jason are going too. I'm leaving tomrrow and will be back next Sunday.

Have a great week! =)

BTW, to top it off, I went and got a manicure, pedicure, and my eye brows waxed today with Brenda. We were getting pretty for the cruise. It was a lot of fun. I haven't had a manicure or pedicure in a year and three months. We won't even go there with how long it has been since I have had my eyebrows waxed! =)

SMILE! =)

We officially had our first visit to the dentist on Monday. Dr. Parker was AMAZING. I heard from a few people that she was great but she was even better than I thought. They started off by taking a picture of Isabella and putting it up on the wall. Then while I was filling out paperwork they took the kids over to the play area and they just played. Then we had a puppet show to show Isabella about the x-rays she was going to get of her teeth. Too cute! Then Buzz Lightyear's space camera took a few pictures of her teeth. The doctor put ear phones on her and let her pick out a movie that she'd like to watch. She chose Dora. Then she put on the cool movie star glasses so that the doctors light didn't blind her eyes. The doctor cleaned her teeth and she didn't move an inch. She told her that she was cleaning them with Princess glitter and that's all that needed to be said. EVERY town needs a dentist like Dr. Parker. She was so cute and so kid friendly. We loved her and her staff. Isabella's dreaded dentist trip turned into her wanting to go back.

Dr. Parker also made a few suggestions about dental hygiene and we have done it every night (so far). =) The kids are so excited about it. She told us some awesome things that I didn't know. I thought I'd share just in case you didn't know:

1. There is this awesome gum that just came out on the market. It contains Xylitol as the first ingredient and it actually kills bacteria while chewing it. The ice breaker gum above is the only one that I could find that had it. (She also said that you could get "Carefree Koolerz".)

2. She said to use ACT Rinse on Isabella. She can use a half dose and to do it right before bed because it coats their teeth while she is sleeping. She said I could even use it on Chase but to just dip his toothbrush in it and then brush his teeth. (If they swallow too much and get a tummy ache then milk will get rid of it.) This is Isabella favorite part. I think it tastes really good.

3. We also floss every night. She told me to make sure that I floss the 4 back molars and to let her try to do the rest. She loves her princess flossers.

4. She also gave us a 2 minute hour glass. We are all supposed to brush our teeth for 2 minutes. It is a long time but Isabella and Chase have done it for the past two nights. They like to watch the hour glass and see if they can do it the entire time.

As you can see our visit was very fun and quite informational. And, she doesn't have any cavities! That was the best part.

A little freaked out...

Well, my ENT specialist scheduled an MRI of my head today. My appointment is on January 28th. I'd a little freaked out because I hope he doesn't find what he's looking for because it doesn't sound very promising! I find out the results a week later. I just hope he can figure out what is wrong and is able to fix the problem. I'm beginning to be very disappointed with doctors these days. Keep me in your prayers.

Christmas at the Brandows...

Well, I don't have my traditional pictures this year. Yes, I did take the ones I normally take too but this year I got a new lens for Christmas and of course I had to try it out! I went around Vola's house taking pictures of the details this year. Kris made fun of me a little but I loved the way some of them turned out! The lens is a lot different so I have some practicing to do but I do love it a ton. Thanks Angela for talking me into it and thank you Deanna for taking our family picture for us. =)

Tagged by Heathdog!

1. I am a night owl. I would much rather be up until 5:00am then to wake up at 5:00am!

2. I'm a touchy feely person. I love the human touch whether it be from Danny, a hug from my kids, or a giving a hug when someone needs it. Touch is an amazing sense.

3. I am obsessed with my email. I seriously check it ALL the time! I love getting email.

4. Little things bother me a lot but I get over things really fast.

6. I love deep conversations with people. Mostly about beliefs.

7. I hate taking medicine. I have to be really suffering to pop a pill.

Christmas Sunday...

I took at picture of my kidos on the Sunday before Christmas in their cute matching outfits. Little did I know that they would hold hands...so cute!

What a friend...

The Casper's and the Booher's came over for dinner the Saturday before Christmas. Brenda was bringing dessert. She made one of my favorites. When she told me what she was making her chocolate pie I asked her if she would bring the mixing bowl so that I could lick it. =) Little did I know that she would actually bring the bowl. She is crazy but I love her.

Church Christmas Activity

Here is Isabella and Chase with Santa at our Primary Activity. Chase doesn't love Santa so Mommy has to sit in for the picture. The last picture is of Sister Thiel and Chase. Chase LOVES Sister Thiel. I think she is his favorite person at church. She does have a little trick. She give him candy every time she sees him. He's a little spoiled by her. He LOVES it. In return she gets a little cuddle time. Totally worth it if you ask me. =)

Happy and Sad...

Is it possible to be happy and sad at the very same time. That is the way I feel today.

I have SO many things to be happy about:
my hubby
my kids
my business
my friends
my calling in church
my upcoming cruise
the new year
finally going to the Melting Pot with our bestest friends
etc...

But at the same time I am so sad about:
my Daddio
my sister
some friendships
the new year

So, I guess I can say that I am SO happy and SO sad at the very same time and about some of the same things. I am looking forward to 2008 but sad to see 2007 to go. The year my Dad was alive and with us. It is truly a bitter sweet!
